snapshot tells the story the story of life in Tampa Bay — its livability, its vibrancy and its diversity. It’s about the creative people whose ideas, passions, drive, and determination meld together with the sunshine, heat, and water to create our own unique way of life.

Tampa Bay is a huge patchwork of cities and neighborhoods –each with it’s own distinct vibe.  snapshot criss-crosses the entire Bay Area to give you a real sense of what it’s like to live, work and play here.

The people that participate in this project open up their personal spaces, offer a glimpse into their day-to-day lives and share how Tampa Bay is part of their identity.

who’s behind snapshot?
snapshot was created by Bryan Hunt. I take the photographs and conduct the interviews. It’s my way of sharing Tampa Bay’s story with the world and to meet even more interesting people!

my hope
One person and one space at a time, I hope to challenge stereotypes, create a new narrative and give you a snapshot of what Tampa Bay is all about. I hope this site inspires you to get out and explore Tampa Bay, meet new people, and make great things happen!

Got a question? Don’t hesitate to ask!

special thanks

Two very special people helped in the creation of this project.  I couldn’t have done this without their help and commitment.

Julia Gorzka Freeman was with me all the way in developing and refining the concept, creating the look and feel of the site, getting the word out and doing the initial interviews.  We spent a year together creating and becoming good friends!

Tony Teegarden worked tirelessly to develop this site and tackle my vision for how the site should look and feel.  His skill, patience and enthusiasm are at the heart of the experience of snapshot.  tonyteegarden.com

Like most of us in Tampa Bay, I came here for sun and fun.  It all started as a vacation right after college.   But like many others I ended up staying.  Never in a million years, did I think I would become a Floridian.

But after a while I began to see beyond the palm trees, water and sunshine. I started to discover the area’s unique character and its potential. I met really cool, well-travelled, dynamic people–people that had chosen Tampa Bay as their home. I began to put down my own roots.  Over 25 years later I am still discovering new places and meeting new people.

My career is in the world of interior spaces.  Naturally I am fascinated by where people live and work. This project is my way of sharing what I see here—a community of creative, energetic people, inspiring places and the limitless opportunities that make this such vibrant and exciting place to live and work.

In my real life I own the workspace consulting firm, Aligned Workspace. I help businesses align their workspace with their business strategy and create branded environments.  I also do residential interior design and renovations.  Along the way, I have served on the board of Creative Tampa Bay, the Steering Committee for the Sarasota International Design Summit and the Advisory Board for Art After Dark at the Tampa Museum of Art. I also developed the CreativeCatalysts, an awards project that celebrates amazing people that are moving Tampa Bay forward.  For me, this project is a natural follow-up to the CreativeCatalysts.
